Quite than face the ache and humiliation of penury the out-of-work senior actor Savi Sidhu opted to tackle the job of a watchman at a high-rise constructing within the suburbs of Mumbai. After his story went viral this week Savi is flooded with presents to return to cinema.
Says Sushant Singh Common Secretary of the Cine & TV Artistes Affiliation (CINTAA), “I spoke to him some time again .He couldn’t name me earlier as he was busy with auditions. He was sounding very completely happy; I congratulated him for selecting to guide a dignified and sincere life. He may’ve been down, however he selected to not be down and out.”
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta feels Savi’s story defines the dignity of labour in addition to the callousness of the leisure business. “I discovered his outlook in direction of life very constructive and dignified. We’re in an unsure enterprise and have solely ourselves to fall again on finally – notably in low phases. I help his dignity above empty phrases of help and sympathy. He’s higher off than many who I meet at receptions of producers’ workplaces whining or pleading and doing little about themselves, their lives or their self-respect. I salute his spirit.”
