Gully Boy gave us great push but we shouldn't be dependent on it: DIVINE

Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy introduced Mumbai’s underground hip-hop scene to the mainstream and rapper DIVINE whose life, together with rapper Naezy, impressed the movie says they need to now make use of the popularity and never be “dependent” on it. The movie, headlined by Ranveer Singh, chronicled the story of the rise of a rapper from Dharavi. Gully Boy emerged as probably the most critically-acclaimed movies of the season and has helped put the highlight on the hip-hop tradition, which was hitherto ignored.
