I am sitting waiting for a showing of Death Race. Located conveniently next to us is this ad of the upcoming horror film Quarantine. The ad looks innocent enough, but every 30 seconds or so, a very lo-fi speaker has Jennifer Carpenter screaming about her imminent death. Constantly. Every 30 seconds. About 120 more times of this to go before the film! Also not as annoying this poster is black until the screaming starts, then that image appears.

First and foremost there is a trailer for 4Fast4Furious, so obviously that is worth the price of admission alone. The trailer probably shows the craziest thing that happens in the movie, its a very complex car stunt scene.

Death Race opens up with a very well done opening moving around the engine of a car. There probably isn’t more than 30 seconds of film before the first explosion. There are very few scenes without violence or explosions of some kind. Jason Statham is ripped, like olympian ripped. Ian McShane is using his Al Sweargen voice and his character doesn’t really make sense.

Overall the movie is very poorly edited, much like this review is poorly written. The car stunts are all done with real cars, there are no cgi vehicles, but unfortunately the poor editing kind of makes it a moot point.
