Operation Immortality? More like Operation Futility.

Operation Futility

Richard Garriott, creator of such games as Ultima and more regrettably Tabula Rasa, is launching a futile mission in October to bring 40 samples of DNA with him to the International Space Station.

Why is this mission futile? Read on!

1. He is bringing “gamer” DNA. Even if the plan to preserve the human race in case of disaster comes through, despite the authors of FV wishes, we the gaming population are probably not the best stock for this.

2. The ISS requires fuel to maintain its orbit. So when the Zombie Apocalypse* comes for us all, we probably won’t be able to keep it afloat for very long.

*Please note that there may be other disasters that wipe out the human race that are not limited to Zombies.
