When’s it actually going to be like nice weather Spring-time? I’m getting sick of all this rain…
FRIDAY
Fans of Burrito-Metal can rejoice as The Sword, Torche, and long running local underdogs Stinking Lizaveta bring the noise to the First Unitarian Church. All Ages. 8pm. $12.
The Black Keys are playing the Electric Factory. I had no idea that they were big enough to play a place like the EF. Weird. All Ages. 9pm. $20/$22.

OK, check it - I’m really really psyched about the 1st annual Funstival on Friday night at Johnny Brendas. It features Hessians, Gemini Wolf, Umlaut, The Mural and the Mint, DJ sets by Pink Skull and Royal T and a bunch of other cool things. Plus, it’s a benefit show for mascher[space]co-op - a vibrant dance and performance space in Kensington. 8PM. $10.
Trolleyvox, Beretta 76, Thee Minks, Doren, and The Bloodsugars are at the North Star. 9pm. $8.
Medusa Lounge has Robotique with Billy W. and Mike Tee. Basement roller-disco jams all night long. Drink specials from 10-midnight. 10pm-2am. Free.

The Making Time 8th Anniversary Freakout at Pure Nighclub features guests Cut Copy, Black Kids and Mobius Band plus, Dave P, Dave Pak, Adam Sparkles, Rock Tits DJs, Pink Skull, Broadzilla DJs. 8 years is a long time. Nuff respect due. 9pm-3:30am. $10/$12.
Tritone has another edition of the garage rockin’ Positively Sick on South Street. This month features the legendary F.O.D. , The Ripovs, and Voodoo Reef. Seriously, people - Flag Of Democracy! I think they’ve been a raging punk band longer than lots of you have been alive. 10pm.
Finally, the Khyber has Brass, Zelazowa, Captain of Industry, and Metroplex. 9pm. $8.

Meanwhile, Upstairs at the Khyber the And Dim Sum dudes present Spin the Bottle. Expect Gordon Bombay and Black Locust to drop dancefloor bombs! 9pm. Free.
SATURDAY
First up, you need to go to the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby. It starts at 12:30 pm at Trenton and Norris Streets. The actual arts festival is from 12pm-5pm. It should be really fun.

The Barbary has Ten Commandments with selectors Kyle M and Darren Saxton. Mash down Babylon. 10pm. $5.

Johnny Brenda’s has an excellent tweeXcore show with the U.K.’s Los Campesinos! and Philly’s own An American Chinese. I’ve been a fan of Los Campesinos since the first time I heard them. They remind me of when K Records bands melded punk rock and pop together. Don’t stop - indiepop! 8pm. $10.
The Susquehanna Bank Center in beautiful Camden, New Jersey has the Glow in the Dark Tour with Kanye West, Rihanna, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco. All Ages. 7pm. $34.50-$100.

Me and McKee are hemmed up with things we need to attend so England Belongs to Twee is taking a break this month. Instead, how about some Fresh Beats from DJJJC and Francesa Upstairs at the Khyber? 9pm. Free.
SUNDAY
Abunai! Abunai! Sunday night belongs to the Japanese. You’ve got two excellent choices:

Inciting HQ has the Dead Science plus Colette Columbirch (from Japan), Whales and Cops, and DJ Digga Crates Elpee. I’m psyched. 8pm. $5.

In other Japanese bands news - Coffins (Japan), Endless Blockade, and Otesanek (reunion show) bring some seriously brutal metal to the Khyber. 8pm. $8
