FRIDAY

Backpack alert! El-P with DJ Mr. Dibbs and The Mighty Quinn, Dizzee Rascal (from the UK), and Busdriver are all at the First Unitarian Church. All Ages. 8:30pm. $15

The Danger Danger Gallery has a Tickely Feather record release party with Swim Past, Akasha Blade, Faded Gory, and Phill Sheldon’s Cat Fancy.  Plus, homemade cupcakes! This is a free show and Tickley Feather 12″s (Ltd to 500/ only 250 remain) will be on sale for only ten bucks each.

DJ Skipmode brings to beats, rhymes and life back Upstairs at the Khyber with the Futureshock party. 9pm. Free.

But, yo, my Fun Vampires Friday Night Sure Shot (patent pending) is The Night Marchers, Black Landlord and The Dynamiters at the Oregon Club (1738 South 2nd Street). The Night Marchers are the other band (not The Obits) that’s made up of ex-members of Rocket From the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Mule, Delta 72 and probably some other great bands that I’m forgetting about. This show is going to rule. All Ages. 8PM. $13.

SATURDAY
The Cure are playing The Wachovia Spectrum. I saw them play there on the Wish tour. It was deece. 7pm.

Calling all punx: Hard Skin (UK), Fucked Up (Canaduh), Invasion (Spain), and Retard Strength. are playing an All Ages matinee at the First Unitarian Church. 3pm. $10. Later that night, the 21+ afterparty is at the Millcreek Tavern with Hard Skin, El Toro Del Oro, Guilty Faces, and Kim Phuc. 9pm. $8.

Inciting HQ  has the Broketronica two year anniversary party with Bookmobile, Aunt Jessica featuring Starkey, Accidentally, Glomag, Mad, Pandemix, and Jef Dux. All Ages. BYOB. 9pm. $5.

The Barbary has The Shakedown with Lady Alma, The Jah Jah Ranking Band, Rob Paine, and Willyum. 10pm-2am. $10.

The Khyber has a Smiths tribute band called Girlfriend In A Coma. 9pm. $10.

Upstairs at the Khyber has Hip Replacement. Deejays Billy Werner and Mike Tee get wild with special guest DJ Benguin from Foreal People NYC. This should be really deep. 9pm. Free.

National Mechanics has The 4th Annual Philebrity Belle & Sebastian Dance Party. Dance the clock around. 9pm-2am. Free.
