The record industry is crumbling. The RIAA is sueing people for illegally downloading music. College kids don’t care about things like that, though. They just wanna be able to excercise their god-given right to download illegal Dave Matthews Band cds in peace.
At Villanova University, students illegally downloading stuff has gotten so out of hand that the university is warning it’s students that they had better knock it off or else.
Sunday’s Philadelphia Inquirer reports: With RIAA violations piling up this spring semester, the university e-mailed students urging them to desist downloading copyrighted music, movies, games and programs on peer-to-peer downloading agents like LimeWire and Morpheus. Villanova did not release the number of RIAA notices issued.
I’m sure that this stern warning will finally end the scurge we call illegal downloads and finally right the sinking ship that is the music industry.
Watch your back out there, kids.
