There’s a lot going on and the weather is properly spring-like.  Too bad I’ll be in Washington D.C. Anyway, on to the fun stuff…

FRIDAY

I feel like I’ve stepped into the time machine again. Johnny Brenda’s has American Music Club, Buried Beds, and Drink Up Buttercup. 9pm. $10. and the Khyber has Caterpillar,  Brother JT, The Marts,  and Mercury Radio Theater. Back to the future. 9pm. $8.

Indie-pop fans can rejoice, for there is yet another installment of Golden Soundz at Tritone. This time they’ve got The Mean, Umlaut, and The Bright Lights. Plus, Neal, Dave and HTSHELL are DJing. Of all the people I know in the world, I think Frank Jordan of The Bright Lights might be able to drink the most. 930pm.  $5.

Medusa Lounge has Get Hype! with DJ Sega, Dirty South Joe, Stereo Fa!th and Surprise Guests. 9pm-2am. Free.

Supposedly, Jay Reatard amd Cheap Time are playing at Swarthmore College. Go there and get punched in the face.

Seclusiasis The Seclusiasis crew bring you the Straight Dope Upstairs at the Khyber. 9pm. Free.

SATURDAY

In what will probably be an epic guest DJ last minute fill in,  DJs Mirror Image aka Zork 1 and Zork 2 with HTSHELL are Upstairs at the Khyber. The Zork Brothers are ridiculously crazy rare record found for a dollar at a flea market beat diggers so you know it’s gonna be really interesting. 9pm. Free.

Bleached Black is back at Medusa with Mike T & Kyle M plus special guest Diamond Girl 10pm-2am. Free.Live Forever is at The Barbary with JHN RDN and Designer Drugs. 10pm. $5.Climb back into the time machine because the North Star Bar has Urge Overkill, Suffrajett, and Kate Starr. 9pm. $12/$15.

Sugar Town at Tritone looks awesome this month with Japan’s  Colette Columbirch, Bells Bells Bells, Alice Cohen, H*E*R, and the lovely DJ Julia Factorial (who recently mailed me an old Black Flag flyer…yes!!!). I wish I could be in town so I could go to this. 9pm. $7.

SUNDAY

Thrashaholics need to be at the First Unitarian Church for Municipal Waste, and Victims  plus two more TBA. 8pm. All Ages. $10/$12.

Meanwhile, hipster-hop fans need to be at Silk City for Yah Mos Def, Sweatheart, and Corndawg. 9pm.
