So yeah. I’m a LARPer. I’ve only been into it for a year or so, so I’m no huge expert, but I’m pretty into it and I think it’s a fun way to spend a weekend. This weekend I’m going to NPC* a game my friend helps to run. It’s awesome and involves Samurai and Ninjas and all sorts of other cool things. I’ll try and take some pictures for you guys.
Anyway, the point of this post is that my friend and great photographer Bryan Derballa came with me to another game I play and took a bunch of awesome pictures and wrote an awesome article about it for Wired Online. You guys should go check it out and read up so you’ll have all sorts of pressing questions for me when I get back to civilization on Monday.Seriously, you should read it.
*NPC stands for non-player-character. That means I get to go LARP for free, but in return I volunteer for the game, and on any given day I will be assigned different roles by the people who run the game- I could be a skeleton, a kindly monk, a horrible and terrifying monster, a damsel in distress, etc… anything to entertain the (paying) player-characters.
