Pitchforkmedia is known for being a sort of indie rock tastemaker. It’s usually not known for it’s heavy metal coverage. That said, the site’s Show No Mercy column is consistantly good. Today they posted an interview with the Philly sludge-metal band Javelina (say it ha-va-LEE-na). Pitchfork give props Javelina’s self titled debut album on Translation Loss Records. Javelina big up some Philly bands and people and then talk about some music that they love. It’s all pretty cool and it makes me want to listen to some of their songs.
