Two Philly Bands Score High Praise Over At Pitchfork.com

April 8th, 2008 by Labuda · 1 Comment

I’ve heard some people complain that the indie tastemaker site Pitchfork.com has no love for bands from the City of Brotherly Love. I don’t know how true that is but today is a decent day for the Philly indie scene to shine in front of a larger audience. Not one but two bands from the Philadelphia have scored pretty glowing reviews from Pitchfork.

First up, Man Man score a very solid 8.0 on their new record Rabbit Habbits.

Second, our pals the Yah Mos Def (that’s YMD to the kids) nab a 7.5 rating for their debut full length Excuse Me, This Is The Yah Mos Def. I don’t think Hiltz ever lived in Philly, though. Dude is a Jersey guy.

 Nice one, Philly!
