Normally we’re not in the practice of freaking out about a show but every once in a while the approaching weekend contains a show so completely off the chain that we can’t help ourselves. This Saturday, Obits make their Philadelphia debut at Johnny Brenda’s. We try to make it a practice to not get too jazzed over ex-members of type bands but Obits are ex Pitchfork, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, Edsel and some other indie bands. That’s quite the pedigree. If this show is anything like the final Philadelphia Hot Snakes show then it is sure to be a raging sweaty mess.
Until Saturday, you’ve got to be content with reading about their first show and listening to this bootleg recording of it.
