OK, maybe they aren’t conquering the world but brothers Mike and Tom Quinn are making some big moves.
Mike is the owner of the excellent Philly based No Quarter record label - except that the label might not be Philly based for long. Mike’s moving to Brooklyn, NY in a few weeks. His skills driving drunken Penn students around West Philadelphia at all hours of the night will be sorely missed. Keep an ear out for an Endless Boogie record that should be coming out on No Quarter sometime in 2008.
Perhaps even more impressive than a move to the Big Apple, Phillygossip dude Dan Gross is reporting that Mike’s big brother Tom Quinn’s film The New Years Parade has won the Grand Jury Narrative Feature at the 14th annual Slamdance Film Festival. That’s seriously impressive.
It should be noted that Tom Quinn (center in that pic up above) and I went La Salle University together. Tom once booked Archers Of Loaf to play in an on campus coffeeshop that was waaaaaaaay too small to contain them and their fans. That was also seriously impressive.
