Philly has a pretty long history with street gangs, so kids taking dumb neighborhood pride to ridiculous heights is nothing new. What is new, however, is the expanded presence of “National” gangs like the Latin Kings, Crips and Bloods. It isn’t enough that people are getting capped in Philly for relatively minor disses - now someone can catch a bad one just by wearing the wrong colors in the wrong part of town.
