Looking for a dog to take to the Clark Park Bowl? Looking for a cat to help keep the mice outta your box of soft pretzels? How ’bout a bunny for your classroom? From now til forever there will be a new monthly spot on FV that will feature some of the bestest animals available for adoption at the PAWS shelter in Philly…

This month, we’ll start with the basics. The City of Brotherly Love is home to one of the largest, most overcrowded animal shelters in the whole US… Each year PAWS takes in about 30,000 (yea, count those zeros!) animals- everything from dogs and cats, to reptiles, bunnies, birds and rodents. So if you’re considering adding a pet to your home, or know someone that is, PAWS should be your first stop, and FV can let you in on the cream of the crop…

FV Dog of the Month:
Jasmine!
null
Jasmine is probably about 1-2 years old and is super cute- she is a pit mix, but is very very petite- probably only abour 25-30 pounds and is full grown. We can’t figure out what she is mixed with since she’s so tiny, and has the ears of a chihuaha or bull terrier. She was found as a stray, but she already walks very well on a leash, seems to be housebroken, knows “sit,” and likes other dogs. She loves cuddling and just being around people and will follow you wherever you go! Jasmine has been at the shelter for quite some time and needs out ASAP. Jasmine’s ID # is: A03857666

FV Cat of the Month:
Oreo!
null
Oreo is a curious domestic short hair mix about 1-2 years old. She is a very playful cat that is super friendly. She is also extremely affectionate - she loves attention. She is not shy at all - the minute you look at her, she comes forward to greet you with her kitty charm. Oreo’s ID # is: A03856540

FV Small Animal of the Month:
Paul Bunyan!
null
A sheep with long ears? No its a small dog - No its Paul Bunyan! Paul is a quite large white rabbit with pink eyes that is currently in fostercare for PAWS. He is extremely calm and mellow and seems to actually like the kittens in the house and all of the cats and kittens are fascinated with him. He is a quiet furry companionable guy who is very easy to take care of. And did you know bunnies are very easy to litter train? Paul Bunyan would make a great friendly, companionable house rabbit for someone.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting any of these animals, or interested in meeting other animals currently at the PAWS Shelter, please get in touch! NatalieSmith33@yahoo.com
