This is kind of insane. Yesterday, A&E announced the Jan. 8 premiere of Parking Wars a 20-episode series that looks at the men and women who, depending on your point of view, either help keep our streets clear or make our lives miserable - the ticket-writers, booters and tow-truck drivers of the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
My favorite quote from the Daily News article about this show is: “There’s a certain attitude and way about Philly people that has never really been captured in an ongoing series,” a quote that pretty much sez ‘Hey America, watch this show to get a handle on why Philly is such a crazy place to live.’
The press release for Parking Wars mentions that parking is every driver’s greatest nightmare. Maybe not in Philly…
Supposedly they don’t make any mention to the ongoing controversy about PPA salaries/perks. No word yet on whether Lew Blum will make a guest appearance on the show.
