CITY HALL RALLY CAPS ON! Field reporters without cameras update on the Phillies’ mega-rally at City Hall.

The rally is crazy. There are like 10,000 people there. The plaza on the west side of City Hall is completely full and people will spilling into the street. Across the streets on 15th and in front of the Municipal Service Building is packed too. There is a 25 ft tall inflatable Phanatic in front of the MSB.

When I arrived noted cover band and pep rally specialists, Mr. Green Genes was rocking. The Phanatic was on stage dancing. Mr. GG had the crowd going with some “We Will rock you” and demanded that the crowd get louder! Street spoke for 5 seconds. He was booed. Gillick and some other front office douche spoke. Then Harry started introducing the team, but I had to leave to come back to work. Totally surprised by the huge turnout. The Crowd was crazy and very positive.

For me, I couldn’t hear much as SEPTA buses, tour vehicles, etc continually cut me off from the action as I stood on the corner of 15th and JFK. No room to move forward. Woefully inadequate soundsystem. Phantoms “mystery goalie” spotted on the same corner, but I didn’t get a coupon.

Adam Eaton received mixed cheers and boos. Durbin and Alfonseca get cheers?

2x “M-V-P” chants.
