This picture does no justice to this monster’s size. It’s bigger than
the aircraft carrier docked just a few dozen yards away.
Sent from my iPhone like a total dork.

Soon after September 11th, the State Department “Council of American Muslims for Understanding… and the American People” created a “Shared Values” series of public relations videos in order to improve our image in Middle Eastern nations. These videos contain heartwarming stories of Muslims in America but leave out the not-so-heartwarming stories of Americans in Oil […]

I have a bit of a cold today so I’m not going to screw around and list eight million events. This time you are pretty much only getting those things that are my absolute pure picks for what I would go to if I didn’t have a cold. Everything else….pssssssh!

HBO’s series The Wire really is the best show on television. The final episode of season four was absolutely heart breaking. I can’t wait for the last season to start. This week the New Yorker has a great profile on the producer, writer and creator of the show, David Simon.

Particle accelerators? Mutant corn? Aliens? Depression?! We’re fucked!
I’d be curious to find out if his list has been revised since this was filmed in 2002. If you don’t have time to watch the whole thing, I’d suggest fast-forwarding to the part about asteroids. Also, check out the comments that people left..

The Highly anticipated push for an MLS (Major League Soccer, for youz n00bs) team in Philadelphia has made a significant step forward! Delaware county has agreed to allocate $30 million dollars for a Chester Waterfront soccer-specific stadium. Rumor has it that the funds are coming from slot revenues at Delaware County casinos. The estimated […]

Damn you Master Chief Auto Parts!!! My cat went ape-shit while I was relaxing in the mountains this past weekend! He capped my weekend off by annihilating my plants and leaving me a pile of shit and piss on my kitchen table! Hence the kitchenbox! Awesome. Nothing says I love you more than a steamy […]

Lance Hahn was a punk rocker and a writer. He played guitar and sang for the indie-punk bands Cringer and J Church. He also spent time in Beck’s backing band and in the hardcore punk band Filth and countless other musical projects. He self published a zine called Some Hope and Some Despair. He wrote […]

Christ! I thought that last Friday was out of control but this Friday night may be even wilder - and the weekend just gets better and better after that.

Whoa! I was poking around and found out that Philadelphia hip-hop legend Lady B is back on the Philly airwaves on the WRNB 107.9 FM channel. A quick check on the stations playlist shows that they pretty much only spin R&B (crazy call letters giving it away and all that jazz) but I guess Lady B […]

I kinda hate jacking from BCO but if I don’t then whatever…According to a post Mr. Ardmore made on BCO, the critically acclaimed Canadian indiepop band Stars asked for an additional security detail for their upcoming Philly show - specifically because of the number of homicides in Philadelphia this year! What a bunch of […]

The abstract Mark di Suvero sculpture on Philly’s Ben Franklin Parkway called Iroquois used to move so much that people could literally jump up and ride the art piece. I’m honestly surprised that no one ever got hurt. Apparently, so is the artist and the Fairmount Arts Commission because Iroquois has recently been permanantly tethered with […]

Good morning vampires it’s been a slow few weeks and we have no real excuses. I figured i’d enliven your monday morning with a few photos from our Chikara Pro Lucha Libre wrestling adventure. As a few people suspected this was indeed not real mexican wrestling. I didn’t see a single latino (looking) person in […]

Oh my god! Friday is completely out of control and it’s gonna be pretty impossible to pick just one thing to do that night. Saturday things chill out a little bit - but just barely. And Sunday…Sunday is fairly packed full of fun and excitement.
