Barry Bonds’ home-run record breaking baseball was purchased at auction by Hip Hop Clothing mogul Mark Ecko, a fact confirmed by the auction house it was sold in, SCP Auctions. Details after the jump.
The story has reached espn.com and probably the rest of the planet, but we at FV are ardent supporters of the democratic process, especially when important matters like this are at stake. Visit the webpage Ecko setup to 1) send the ball to Cooperstown straight away, 2) brand it with an asterisk and then send it to Cooperstown or 3) get rid of it forever. For the record, I love this idea and I’m glad he’s doing it, but I wish people cared a little more about important things which had an actual bearing on their lives. Not at the expense of sports, but like in addition to it, you know?
