Satan Spelled Backwards

August 16th, 2007 by Labuda · 1 Comment

If you are of a certain age and you were into skateboarding then chances are pretty good that you were a Natas Kaupas fan. I know that I was!

How could you not be?

The guys name was sataN spelled backwards. He had a really innovative and sick style. His hair and skate style were weird as hell. His part in ‘Streets On Fire’ is legendary. (Check out when he ollies up on to a fire hydrant and then does the 720 spin spin around on it and then slides off and keeps skating. Sick!) He was one of the pioneers of what we now call ’street skating.’ He was the first pro to have a signature sneaker. He invented the ‘wallie!’ He grew up in the legendary Dogtown section of Santa Monica. He’s just an overall ridiculously talented guy.

Check out this video biography of the dude with the name that scared every suburban skaters mom half to death in the late ’80’s.
