Once again Labuda has skirted his duties as the weekend advisor so I’ here to ruin all your fun once again with the Hermit Edition®. Tonight is first friday but guess what, I don’t care! I’m certainly not going to cram myself into the tiny sidewalks and galleries of Olde City along with the guidos and wannabe artists and critics of the world…
Tonight i’ve already played a few rounds of Bomberman Live! on Xbox Live Arcade. most likely this will happen a few more times tonight until the GF gets home and is sad i have not come up with something fun to do. AS USUAL.

I also plan on messing around a bit with my new drum station. The Ion iED04. It’s a pretty decent machine so far except for the fact that there is some weird very slight whirring noise coming through. But i’m not really worried because i got this $190 box for $60! Score! It allows you to add on two foot triggers. One for the kick and another for the Hi-hat. I have a trigger for a keyboard and was happily surprised to find it works as a trigger on this. Now i just need one more. The iED04 also has MIDI out so i think i might be able to hook it up to my keyboard and use those sounds. I’ll find out soon enough because i just ordered two MIDI cables. A downer though is that this thing is almost impossible to play without a stand and from my furious internetz searching i have only been able to find one stand that looks as though it might fit for 150 friggin dollars. I might have to go DIY and attempt to construct one myself. But that will be saved for another hermit edition.

The GF got me a print last year for my birthday, the anniversary of which is fastly approaching. So i recently spent way too much friggin money to get it framed. It’s a valuable print that i’ve wanted for years that was featured in the Art of Rock book so i figured it was worth it. I went all out and got archival acid free paper, really fancy wood and museum glass! The frame cost more than the print. Anyways point is, i have to get my rear end off the couch and to Lowes to pick up some hanging supplies because i really want to hang this sucker this weekend.

Again i will spend a lot of time yelling at, walking, feeding, petting, cleaning, screaming at, being frustrated by and generally dealing with these monsters.

On Saturday we’re supposed to go to the shore but we’ll see what happens. The GF has already warned me of a chore i am slated to do. It’ll take all of 20 minutes but it requires leaving the house AND driving so as a dedicated hermit i’m not looking forward to it. We have to take the plastic recycling which has been piling up in the basement to some drop off place because most of PHILADELPHIA DOES NOT RECYCLE PLASTIC IN 2007.

And last but not least i need to start brainstorming on vacation ideas because it’s been over 2 years since i’ve left the fertile soil of the US&A and i’m feeling the itch. I need a break from the monsters, south philly, work and GW. If anyone has any ideas please feel free to help me. I want to spend less then $1000 (i’m a ghetto traveler) and want to not be in America for at least 5-7 days. Sam, wanna hit up Istanbul again?

Sorry this wasn’t what you were expecting but tough shit, yell at Labuda for ditching youz guyz when you need him most and feel free to add your own weekend picks in the comments.
