Now that I am an old man, I usually only go to shows to see one band and then head back home. However, sometimes I luck into a show that is so epic that I will show up early and sit through every band playing. For Philadelphia, tonight at is one of those kinda nights!
Home Blitz, Clockcleaner and Jay Reatard are playing an R5 show at Johnny Brenda’s tonight and I am going to make my Fun Vampires Awesome Show 100% Guarantee that this will be a rager.
Home Blitz have the bossers and strunkers going crazy. Clockcleaner are one of the best local bands that Philly has to offer. And, Jay Reatard has always been great in whatever billion bands he’s been in but he finally has the rock critics drooling over him.
Here are some mp3s to tide you over:
Home Blitz: 1) Hey! | 2) Stupid Street | 3) Apocalyptic Grades 2005 A.D
Clockcleaner: 1) In The Shit | 2) Missing Dick | 3) Hands Are For Holding
Jay Reatard: 1) Blood Visions | 2) Death Is Forming | 3) I See You Standing There | 4) It’s So Useless
Here’s a page with some excellent Jay Reatard live footage and and another page with a worthwhile interview.
Plus, don’t forget about the Clockcleaner interview that I conducted in my kitchen.

I want to try to go see Breakfast beforehand at Disgraceland. Does anyone know what time they go on?

sampling those mp3s has led me to believe this show is going to sound like a high school battle of the bands.
