Good Times For A Change…

Moz at the borgata by flickr user beef_taco_supreme

Last night, Minirich and I ventured down tha shore to see The Man in Atlantic City on the last night of his U.S. tour. I’ve never seen Morrissey before so I wasn’t fully prepared for the weirdness.

The Borgata is an OK place and I dig peeping hot girls so that was deece but it’s impossible to get a quick bite to eat there. I had to settle for a cornbread muffin that cost like $5 and a sip of Rich’s $3 Arizona Iced Tea. Actually, I bet I maybe could have found someplace cheap but we didn’t get there til late so I had to settle for something close to the venue.

I like Morrissey / The Smiths but I am not a superfan weirdo. With that in mind, here is my assessment of the show. Bear in mind that I had a GREAT time but I am a fun vampire at heart so I have to complain about something, right?

The Music Box at the Borgata is a weird/cool place to see a show. It’s pretty intimate and the place was about half empty last night

  • despite what weirdos on Moz worship sites are saying, I found the staff of The Borgata to be very polite.
  • lots of sad nerdlinger types (of both sexes)
  • conversely, lots of hot ladies and frat dudes
  • bringing your little kid to a Morrissey concert is cool
  • having Morrissey talk to your kid is even cooler
  • going to every.single.show on the Moz tour isn’t that cool
  • giving superfans the mic in between songs is embarrassing
  • nerds really freak out when a kinda sorta in shape old man takes his shirt off
  • kinda sorta old men should NOT take their shirts off on stage
  • fighting over a man’s shirt is dumb and childish
  • being a FVer and catching a thrown drumstick out of mid-air like you are some sort of geeky whiteboy Eagles receiver is awesome
  • people don’t like it when you try to headwalk to the stage and then try to flip off the barrier back into the crowd
  • security doesn’t like that either
  • Morrissey, on the other hand, seemed to kinda like it (way to slap me five, man!)
  • yelling “Labuda!!!” as I fly over your head is cool
  • shouting out song names in between songs is dumb when most internet sites show that the setlists barely change
  • shouting “MORRISSEY!!!!!1111111″ after every song is retarded
  • by the way, is it ‘Mor-is-eee’, ‘Morris-ee’ or ‘Mar-is-ee?’ I heard all three last night
  • what was with that dumb gong drum thing? It reminded me of the ‘Unchained’ video or something

Setlist kind of in order but not really:

Panic
First Of the Gang To Die
The Youngest Was the Most Loved
Whatever Happens, I Love You
Girlfriend In A Coma
All You Need Is Me
Let Me Kiss You
In The Future When All’s Well
You Have Killed Me
Disappointed
The Boy With The Thorn In His Side
That’s How People Grow Up
Everyday Is Like Sunday
Irish Blood, English Heart
Tne National Front Disco
I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris
I Just Want To See The Boy Happy
Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
How Soon Is Now?
Encore:
Last Of The Famous International Playboys

Like I alluded to up above, during the encore some nerds were fighing over a shirt. That fight gave me the opportunity to use their backs and shoulders as my launch ramp. Once I busted out, it seemed like everyone started trying it. Luckily, security didn’t throw me out so I was able to bust back up front and somehow I snagged a drumstick out of mid-air.

Email us with a story telling me why you deserve the drumstick and if anyone has a good story then I’ll give it to you.

Oh yeah, peace to O.B., Shana (I hope I spelled that correctly), Rich, Andy Pry, Stunner and her crew, Bridget Foy, Elizabeth Bluegirl and whoever else that I saw last night.
