
On Saturday, the greatest bike race in the world started…
The 2007 Tour de France, surrounded in controversy with no winner from the 2006 Tour de France. So this year they started in beautiful London admist terror attacks they had their first grand depart for the first time ever in London.
Saturday was the prologue, a 7.9km time trial through downtown London with George Hincapie (a former teammate of Lance Armstrong) finishing at a solid 3rd place. Other highlights include another American David Zabriskie finishing for a tying 10th place.
Sunday the first stage from London to Canterbury was a quick one with a minor crash near the end of the stage making favorites to win that stage including English native Mark Cavendish with bike difficulties and star Sprinter Robbie Mcewen involved with the crash the stage seemed all but over. He somehow worked his way back into the peloton and took over the favorites for an exciting stage win!
