I just got back from lunch and I feel like my face melted off in the oppressive pre-Summer heat.  Try to stay cool this weekend but don’t slack on going out to these worthwhile events and having some fun.

Friday, June 8th

conjoined: the sequel to partypartyparty

All new sewn drawings, bags, and wine and cheese reception with oversized cupcakes and probably miniature beers!  It’s gonna be at Benna’s cafe 8th & wharton (1236 south 8th) from 7pm-9pm but this show runs from june 8th through july 12th so if you can’t make it tonite then check it some other time.

The Nooses and Hey Angel + Risk Relay and The Ghost Armada are playing at Tritone 10pm, $7.  The Nooses are ex Ink & Dagger!  Hey Angel has the excellent dude Josh Alvarez as a front man.  And, The Ghost Armada are ex C.R.!

Fluid has another acidrainbow installment of [Click!] with Dave P and Adam Sparkles. $1.00 PBR & $2.00 Well Drinks from 10pm-12am. Free before midnight, $5 after.

The Khyber has a really worthwhile fund raiser with For Mia: An Alex’s Lemonade Stand Fundraiser with Audible, The Clamor, Kid Kreyol, The End of Radio, Hello Tokyo (downstairs) and DJ Deejay, MC Kenneth Masters, Ultragrrrl (upstairs).  The show will have a raffle with great prizes donated by local businesses plus drink specials (vodka & lemonade for $3 all night, $1 PBRs & Miller High Life upstairs until 11pm) $10. All the money raised at this will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand

Saturday, June 9th

The eighth annual Philadelphia B-Boy BBQ is on Saturday! Anytime from 11am til about 8pm you can head over to the Hawthorne Rec Center at 12th & Catherine to check out live painting, food, vendors, BBoy battles, DJs Illvibe Collective, Skeme Richards, The Record Player, Kinetic, Luke Raws, Akshun, KD.  Plus,  graf legend Pose2 and hip-hopper Phonte from Little Brother are gonna be there.

After that head to Philadelphyinz 2 and give Apt One a pound for me.

Electrelane, Tender Forever and Relay play Johnny Brenda’s $10

Hip Replacement returns to Upstairs at the Khyber with Mike T.(Paradise), Jason S. (Cream Yur Jeans), Manny D. (Bleachedblack). $1 PBR & Miller until 11pm. 9pm. Free

The M Room hosts the mod rock explosion called Immediate.  Expect Brit R&B, soul and heavy psyche with DJ’s The Brother, Gieda (Mikey), Mighty Rusty Seger, Kyle [m] from Intensified. 10pm. Free before 10:30 $5 after.

Sunday, June 10th

Sunday is a bike racin’ day with the 23rd Annual Philadelphia International.  9 a.m. free.

Downstairs at World Cafe Live has the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry.  It’s at 8pm and I bet this will be a good show because every time I’ve seen Lee Perry it’s been worth it but still this show is kinda retardedly expensivesivesivesivesivesivesiveiveiveiveiveeeeeeeee.

The Low Budgets are not to be confused with DJ Low Budget!  They are a punk band and they are playing the LAVA Space at4134 Lancaster Ave with Dave Smolen at 7pm.  It’s a punk show so I bet that it’s five bucks.

The North Star Bar hosts the way under-rated Wheat plus The Yarrows.  8pm.  $10.  I wish this show was on another day so I could walk over but like..who are we kidding?  We’re going to be sitting at home watching the FINAL EPISODE of The Soprano’s.
