Pissed Jeans on Pitchfork

As you may remember, a while ago we linked you up to a live radio broadcast of Pissed Jeans playing in Seattle.  We can only assume that the lads were in Seattle to steal Mother Love Bone records from Sub Pop HQ.  Anyway, the new PJ record, “Hope For Men,” is out.  I’d heard that Rolling Stone magazine gave them a 3.5 review and that’s pretty amazing but the kids today are all about the Pitchfork.  And, Pitchfork is seriously ’bout it, ’bout it with a mighty EIGHT POINT ONE rating (sidebar: ok, fine.  you have to rate the records on a number scale.  I get it. Couldn’t you just use whole numbers, though?).  I happen to agree with Pitchfork on this one.  “Hope For Men” is a rager that I keep coming back to.  Pissed Jeans are playing with the also excellent Blues Control at  Johnny Brenda’s next Friday and you could do a whole lot worse than that show, Philly. Buy the new cd here and the first cd here.
