America’s most illiterate mayor vetoed an upcoming referendum on the May 15th ballot which asked Philadelphians if ca$inos should be allowed within 1500ft of a school, mosque, church etc. The sleazy, obviously paid in an escalade mayor decided the citizens of the city had no right to be heard on this matter that directly affects their neighborhoods, crime rates and home resale value. City Council voted unanimously 17-0 to tell the mayor to suck it and that we will have our say, even if voting is a total scam. Now it’s up to the $tate and casinos to file suit against the city to block the referendum. Mr. Mayor, get your hand out mah pocket!

we got 200,00 signatures to get a question on the ballot to at least get a say on whether or not we wanted casinos. it got overturned in a day. it usually takes about a week to investigate a petition that big. this is fucked up.
